CASUAL CITY RIDES
These rides are led by someone very familiar with the route and very
familiar with city riding. The ride leader can take care of a flat tire
or other small bike issues that may arise. However, if the bicycle is
not in proper shape for the ride, we cannot be responsible for repair
issues.
PLEASE send an email to info@lightstcycles.com
or call 410-685-2234 with contact info if you are interested in any of
these rides.
Sunday mornings: 8:15 am until about 11:30 am
Join us at 8:15 am in front of the shop at 1015 Light Street. We will
bike (uphill) to Lake Montebello and ride the approximately 1.3 mile loop
around this integral part of Baltimore’s water filtration system.
The road around the lake has just been resurfaced and the entire are landscaped
as part of a $15 million project that also increased the lake’s
storage capacity. (See http://www.ci.baltimore.md.us/news/press/0807/082907%20Lake%20Montebello.pdf
for a description of the work.) We should return around 11:30 am.
Wednesday lunchtime: 11:00 am until about 2:00 pm
From 11:00 am until about 2:00 pm, ride (uphill) to Druid Hill Lake and
circle the fountain, enjoying yet another recent improvement to our city’s
parks. (see
http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.asp?trailid=XMR012-007 for a
hiker’s description of the loop). We will join up with lunchtime
riders from Baltimore’s Recreation and Parks as they squeeze some
exercise into their day. Meet in front of the shop, at 1015 Light St.
